Pics Of Eggs

eggs still there this morning,
not goin do anything this time but goin to get the other tank setup and ready me thinks for next time, all i want is to see them hatch, then i will be happy

Oh no, thats harsh, just when it looked like you would see some wrigglers :( Better luck next time.

Sorry to hear about your eggs Beechey. Better luck next time....

cleaned the tank today so might spark the other pair of spair tank has been cleaned but dunno where to put it lol

right the same pair has laid eggs again in the same place this time alot more and in a perfect neat circle lol
so gonna set my tank up in the morning i think (well when i get up ) so do i need to use the water in the tank as the filter will not be mature!! any tips ?

The water will not contain a significant amount of bacteria but may make the transition easier on the fish. You should remove some media from your other filter to seed the new one if possible. Good luck!

yeah i was thinkin this as with the fliter and i dont wanna end up stressing the fish and have the pair die!!!

Yep use 1/3 of your media from your existing filter and place it in the new filter for the spare tank, the existing filter will need media replacing with new obviously, but it should be fine and colonise the new media fairly rapidly. Good luck with these eggs :)

tank is almost set up put it in the babys room aint got a light mind will that matter??
also i was thinking could i put the eggs in the new tank to keep them safe, without the parents?

They dont need a light, if you remove the eggs from the parents, then you will need to run an airstone by them to simulate the fish fanning the eggs, TBH I would think you have more luck leaving the parents with them, without any interference or stress from other fish, they have more chance of survival than if you remove the parents.

in my main tank they have laid the eggs next to the air stone...
my main problem is im scared the new tank wont be stable enough to support the discus needs, im tempted to leave the tank 2 weeks and try some sort of net over the eggs to keep the head stander away..

I have read reports of people using a mesh around the eggs to prevent the parents from eating the eggs while still allowing for fanning. Here is a pic:

The eggs aren't really protected too much by the mesh in this pic but at least you get an idea of what kind of mesh to use...

i might have summit round the house i could make surly....
