Picking Up Play Sand Today For My 56 Gallon...

That's flourite... I am going to be planting in the back right corner, and along the back of the tank. I will also be covering the large rocks with some moss as well.

I am considering whether or not to cover that section with more sand, I still have some left. And even if I didn't then I'd just get another bag. It was only $3.

I found with the sand I used it was brown in the bucket when being.washed, but now its in the tank and under the lights it is almost white. It has got to be the cheapest way to add substrate to a tank. Very impressed with mine, the corys love it, as do the plants it would seem.

Well done to you!

LOL I called a local sandblasting company to ask where they got their silica sand. Called there and got 100lbs of pure silica sand for less than $10. Still have over half of it in the bag. :D

I've mentioned elsewhere that I have just a black piece of fleece fabric behind all my tanks. It's inexpensive and looks great!

I used black poster board. No tape, no nothing. The bottom sits on the trim and the HOB filters hold the top. :D
