Phillips Aqua Coral Light

hi all, when i bought my rio 300, it had a phillips aqua coral fluorscent in it, is this for marines or i can i use it ,my tank is moderatly planted ,if so ,is it beneficial to plants, fish etc, many thanks

Most of the lights that come with the tanks are fine for any type fish. In truth, the fish would prefer that the lights never be on. Just the ambient light is all they need. As for your plants, it really depends on what type plants you have. Most stem plants like anacharis, hygrophilia, amazon sword, java fern, wisteria, anubis nana, etc. will be fine with those lights. For high light plants though, you will need to upgrade to power compacts in order to get the wattage you need.
