hey guys
my tanks ph was on about 8.2 it's now droped down to 7.6. I added some ph up solution, how long does ph up keep it stable??? i am also going to add in sand coral, will this fix the problem?

Just how low is your pH from the tap? The sand will help. I believe you can use baking powder or a commercial cichlid mix added at every water change or something like that as well. Honestly though, I've never lived in an area with low pH so I haven't had to deal with this problem. I would post in the african cichlids forum for more responses. You are guaranteed to get answers there. :)

It is far better to have a stable pH than the ideal pH.

Why are you wanting to mess with the pH?

It has dropped from 8.2 to 7.4, i have managed to get it to 8.0 at the moment. It is 8.2 that the ph should stay on with the fish i have in the tank.

you've got fish in the tank already?
stop messing with the pH cause that might just kill them. Your fish will be fine at 7.4 as most african cichlids are tank bred anyway...
