Ph Difference Killing My Guppies!

All of my levels are normal..and my PH is 6 at the moment. So I ordered some guppies online. I have been preparing for them for weeks and have been ajusting the ph with nuetral regulator and alkaline regulator (my ph is usually 6 and the fish that were coming are 7.6 or so). So I got my ph to like 7.2 and aclimated them for like 5 hours. After testing my water a little later I realized I had some ammonia (.25) so I did a 50% water change......what is wierd about my water though is that it comes out of the sink at 7.6 ph and over night plummits to 6.0 ( I have basicly no kh in my water) but if I put the ph regulator stuff in the water right out of the sink it makes the ph very high....so I thought it would shock them.......now I wake up and all of them have white edges on their fins...just as I had feared and now I am fearing for all of their lives! please should I try to adjust the ph up a little or will that make everything worse.........I 'm thinking that I'm just going to have to wait and see what happens......what would you do?!

Ditch the PH adjusters, the guppies should do fine in water with a PH of 6 for the time being, try and get your hands on a filter sock and some coral sand, place a handful of coral sand in a filter sock and place it in your filter, it will slowly raise the KH, GH and PH and will make it more suitable for your guppies.

should I put the bag of sand in now? What I'm asking is what would help them now......they are really struggling. Do you think adjusting the ph now with the sand won't hurt them more?

The fluctuating PH is what's doing them harm, stop adding the PH adjusters and leave the tank as it is, get your hands on the coral sand and add a handful into the filter bag, and it will slowly raise all of the levels into the ideal range for guppies.

I agree with truck.
Ph adjusters can do more harm than good.
Take truck advice.
