I have recently set up a 75 gallon tank. I live in a hard water area. My goal is to create a community tank of most tetras and fish that prefer neutral to softer water. I have been using a pH test kit that tests ranges from 6.0-7.6. My water is at the upper limit...7.6+. I have been using a pH Decrease liquid since yesterday, as per the manufactures instructions and haven't seen any movement in the pH.
I am wondering if this is a challenging task to reduce the pH this much or if its normal to take such a long time to see progress. I realize pH must be moved very gradually. I've been using the product roughly every 3 hrs. I think its possible that my water may be higher then 7.6 obviously, but thats the highest limit of my kit. Any advice?
