Hi all,

I totally agree.
I know there are a lot of us here, who have fry, and I think it would be interesting to see what comes out of it, and to see if the lower pH/more males hypothesis really is true. So let's see what you have! I'd recommend you wait until your fry are at least 3+ months old to say what sex they are, as you all know some males can be late developing. You should be able to get an idea of what's going on by then.
Here's what I have:
Variatus Fry, born October 24th and November 15th.
pH of tank: 6.5
Number of females/males: 2 Females, 7 males.
Wagtail Platy Fry, born November 2nd.
pH of tank: 6.3
Number of females/males: No females, 2 males.

Now this strikes me as a scientific question where we should be able to get together a significant amount of data, considering how many of us there are who've had livebearer fry. Keep 'em coming, folks!
