after losing some of my fish and a mystery illness i have been doing lots of water checks.

just checked my ph which i havent checked for sometime and it is 9.5!
so, tanks water ph 9.5 no2 0 amm 0 no3 2.5

water company reading, Ca 98-130 CaC03 245-325 DC 17-23 DF 24-32 DG 14-18

i do wc twice a week normally more then 50% each time.

so what should i do?

9.5?? :eek: You are absolutely certain? What kind of fish do you have?

yep im sure!
i have guppies, platies, cories, neons, kribs, kuhli loaches, bn plec, ram, peacock gudgeon, and snails.
 
Have you tested the tap water, after leaving it to stand for 24 hours first? That will pin down if it's something in your tank or your water supply.

straight from the tap is 8 and i have some water waiting for me to test tomorrow.
 
It seems that something in your tank is buffering your PH. Have you added anything? What substrate are you using, etc?
PH that high is not good for your fish as it really is quite high IMO.

i havent added anything new.
play sand substrate
drift/bogwood
live plants
1 terracotta tube
mini landscape rock from AE
1 calcium cube i got from lfs for snails, only put in yesterday

FILTER MEDIA
ceramic rings
plastic ball things
sponge
 
left my tap water sitting for 48hrs and the ph is 9.

i have this morning lost a beautiful turquoise female guppy, she was in mid of giving birth and was displaying symptoms of swim bladder. will her babies still be alive inside her?

can some one please advise the best course of action. i do not want to keep losing my fish.
