Persueding The Parents

i have 10 gallon tank and a 1.5-2.5 betta tank in my room. i'm also going to be setting up a small "beginner" tank for my guppy fry until they get larger. i'm trying to figure out how to persuede my 'rents into letting me get another to keep more fish in. they said "no" for about a week about the betta and "no" for about three for the smaller fry tank until i said i'd pay to set it up again. any tips on persueding them?

The way I got round it was to just turn up at home with one!! I wouldn't recommend it though.

Well I bought my first tank in the summer and they've always been against pets, got it anyway though and they were moody for a day or too then just let it go. If your willing to take care of it then it's nothing to do with them is it? How big are you thinking of getting - i'd recommend a min of 20 gallon if you want a community tank...

Kind of does have something to do with them as it's their house. Although I suppose it'll be ok if your going in your bedroom.
My second tank ended up in our kitchen coz there was no more space in the rest of the house!!

I just bugged my mom and gave her the "puppy dog face" and now I have a 30galoon, a 20 gallon, and a 2 gallon.

I said that I would do my chores for free for a month and also no allowance for a month (I was buying the tank, stand etc. with my own money). I also wrote up a research paper on all of the fish that I wanted (included ph range, temp. range,foods,prefered substrate and decor etc.) and made a schedule for tank matenence to prove that I was responsible. After like a month of reading fish books and looking for a good deal on Craigslist I finally got my tank.

Well when it comes to persuading my parents into getting something that I want, I say: "Mom... Dad... Listen I have decided I am going to get (fill in the blank)" and then I buy it with my own money and hope for the best. I am a little older and in college though, so I guess I could be potentially kicked out of the house. Mom wasn't the happiest person in the world when I bought a motorcycle . But then agian this isn't the best way of doing things.

If you do get the tank I would strongly reccomend you cycle it properly this time and move some of your existing fish from your 10 gallon as it is overstocked by a bit and your fish are in improper numbers.
