what do you mean if it was large enough? for the 41 gallon i would go with the blue dempsey. if the tank was bigger then you could go with the parrot and dempsey

Parrots get big, fat and funny ahah and imo should be kept in groups.I have kept a texas cichlid before, great personality and soo sexyfully colourful [ :shifty: ].Females would be ok in that tank but males can get very big!

ok thanks cheesy feet.I love parrots becuase of theyre fat puffy faces ad there little round bellies.HEHEHEHE.

Or you could buy rhe fish you want most and figure out its behaviour. If its nice and lovekly, then perhaps adding the 2nd fish. If it doesnt work out then just rehome or give it back to the lfs.

For a 41 gallon all those previously mentioned faish are far too large. A green terror canpotentially be a large 10" monster, requiring a tank of 60 gallons minimum, the corner tanks arnt really adeuate for the larger cichlids due to the shorter lenght and they're increased hight which is th generall corner tank. In a 41 gallon the largest cichlids which you you could possibly keep are discus, But considering you are a begginer, i would advise against this.
A member of the archocentrsu such as the archocentrus centratchus is a larger (7" male 5" female) are are a highly attractive membe of the cichlids. Un your tank you are looking for a fish which grows to about 7 - 8" maximum. The list of cichlids which you have just given just grow too large....

just as a note on aggressive fish and corner tanks

i've got an oscar is a 92 gallon corner tank, and because of the lack of floor space he's claimed the whole tank as his own and bullied companions even when they'd been together since babies. put an aggressive medium sized cichlid in that tank and you won't be able to add any more free swimming fish ever, you may get away with some catfish/plecs but that's about it.

just so you know that if you do go with pretty much any of the fish mentioned above for this tank you probably won't ever be able to put other fish in with it even if there is plenty of room.
