just to update, when i checked again there was no pink or red anything on him but he was still floating around.. well i got a medication from the lfs (maidenhead aquatics) and he just didnt respond to it. his dorsal fin started looking like there was a cotton wool like spot on it, but despite treating him for bacteria, fungus and poss finrot (as his fin had a little nick in it where the fluff was) he just kept floating to the top whenever he stopped swimming. I found him this morning upside down on the bottom. poor dude he was my first favourite and the first fish we named ('Charlie' cause he waddled like charlie chaplin). i'm sad right now but i know its better he's gone - cant have been fun for him Charlie.
