Yup, I got 4 Black Skirt Tetras today. I only didn't do as everyone said because I had a feeling that's the whole reason made peguin made this filter.
It works, they've been lively for about 12 hours now, friendly little guys.

12 hours and thier lifespan is 2 dif things. I do not by anymeans think a fish cycle is bad if done corectly. But, by you calling a "fishless cycle" a 24hr cycle, then that would mean you dont know your elbow from your knee. See in the english language, the word less means without. Hints a fishless cycle would mean as it says, a cycle "without fish". What you are doing is a fish cycle. Luckily for you, you picked good fish to do such a cycle as they are low waste producers. Not to say you might not lose a fish two in the next month or so, but as long as you keep numbers low you should be ok. I wouldnt advise any new fish for the next few weeks. No matter what you local chain store says. Remember they are in the market of just getting you to buy. They could care less if they live or not. If they die, that just means you will be back to buy more. Last but not least, i wouldnt recomend trying to argue with some of the members of this forum as they have been keeping fish for years and years. A chain store employee has probably never kept any fish at all. They just go by what it needs to sell you something. So think twice before trying to argue with some experts in the field of fishkeeping. If you trust this guy so much, then why even post in this forum. But, if you want to learn more about fishkeeping then please ask and someone will always answer. It might not be the answer you want to hear, but most come from experience and not trying to sell you something.
