Thanks, I'm quite pleased with how he's looking, and he will only improve as he fattens up and regrows his fins. It LOOKS like his tail has grown and evened out, but in reality he just lost that much more to the fin-rot before I was able to cure it. I was hoping that clean water would do the trick but it didn't so I dosed him with bettafix for a week and the redness, fraying and loss has halted.

Just thought I'd add some update pictures, he's well up to weight and strength now. I've added a filter so he's built up muscle and fin strength dealing with the current, also threw in my Het. formosa and female blackchins to give him something to look at. He was building some very impressive bubble nests when the filter wasn't on there, he had one spanning nearly a third of the tank (10g)

i can't believe people passed up this beauty when he was in the store! even when he became sickly, he was still a stunning fish. you've brought out his true colors
