The pic might help but sometimes they can be deceiving.

As you can see from the video i took the day before he was fine with no eroded fins. The day he died literally went into this condition (see pic) within a few hours. The pic was taken literally within 2 hours from when he died. What (roughly) does it look like to you?

I'm sorry to hear your fish has died, it looks like it may have been fin rot, but there are many other illnesses that could have caused this such as columnaris and velvet too, these issues are nearly always caused by poor water quality, stress and or injuries to the fins allowing the bacteria to invade the tissues, I may be seeing things but is that not a worm ejecting itself from the fish at it's bottom?

Finrot can be a secondary bacterial infection.
Poor thing.
Such a shame. Breaks my heart.

No there was no signs of any worms ejecting from him. You mention water quality is to blame as a main cause but the water quality is fine, ive had no other deaths and i have also another 3 other DGs bought and intruduced at the same time as the 1 that past away.

He might of had a nip to his pectoral fin (which is what i first noticed) which could of caused a bacterial infection? If thats the case im abit worried about my other male DG, 1 of his antennas things looks shorter than the other so its been nipped off by probably 1 of my crafty angelfish who get abit grumpy. Could this cause a bacterial infection too?.

Today im going to be doing a 25% water change and its ready for its second and final dose of the interpet internal bacterial infection treatment.

Shall i or can i add melafix too?

There oppertunist bacteria which will take affect on weaker fish.
Also bacteria can gain enter throw cuts and wounds.
