What other fish do you plan on keeping them with?
Pearl Gouramies can be quite aggressive and are best kept as 1 male to 2 females.

Yep, stang is right one male to two females is best. I have this ratio in my 3 foot tank and it works well. It's fun to watch them interact, and there's nothing like a male pearl in full breeding colours (if you have a solitary male he doesn't show his best :))

But yes, it would be helpful to know what else you're putting in with them, as some species might bother them (e.g. fin nippers).

Not sure i have room for 3.....

The only possible fin nipper is a RTBS

What kind of fish are pearls aggressive towards? I have 4 males with angels, swordtails, platies, serpae and black neon tetras, dojo loaches, dwarf gouramis, honey gouramis, german blue rams, and plecos. I haven't ever seen the pearls even a little bit aggressive toward any other fish, including the other pearls.

Don't worry Confusion, I've since realised it was keeping them with other Gouramies that caused the aggression. It seems that they are peaceful in a community tank but can be aggressive when kept with other Gouramies. Mine used to chase and nip at my Thick-lipped Gouramies constantly so we had to rehome them.
