Pearl Gourami Breeding

Well I have finally got a tank that im picking up tonight so I thought I would start the first enty in to my diary.

To make this easy to keep an eye on im going to steal the first 2 posts for updating so that free commets Questions can be asked/answered with out making the diary hard to read.

First section is What do i need..... This list will grow/be altered as i find out my mistakes....

Tank - I have gone for a 2ft by 1.5 high by 1ft wide
Filter and Heater
Light (optional)

Some sort of cave area for the female
Something floating for the nest

1 gallon Tank/Jug/Cup.... for infusoria culturing
Banana Skin for above!
Small Baster

Large glass to house live food for conditioning.

Thats about it so far. I will put up my diary progress in 2 halves.

well , pretty much for enjoyment, but i alsoo am hoping to breed them!!

i just got a male dwarf gourami for my two females, maybe they will breed?

no reason why not as long as one takes his fancy.

sound slike you have a great project i the works there. i too i'm hoping to see them nest etc.. i have not experianced this , my make appears to be much larger than the two females so i will see what happens hehe.

what are the signs of them breeding

From what i have read the about pearls is the males colour up then build a nest. the female will swells up with eggs.

Not sure the males colour up in other gouramis.
