I bought a 56 gal. tank and will be moving my medium Sev and Opaline Gourami to it. If I keep a PH of 7.5, would it be possible to keep a few Brichardi's or a Peacock with them ? I was told yes at the store....but you know how that is. They were in a tank with Convicts and Kribs. I am also considering Kribs or Firemouths, but prefer the others if possible. Thanks !

I personally would'nt as a few week's ago i put three african's in my tank for a temp meausure for my friend and they attacked everything and caused mayhem, seeing as sev's are laid back id advise against it :good:
the one's you mention are terratorial

Thanks Nelly ! Yes, after more research tonite I am afraid to add any of them -_-

Anyone have ideas for compatible fish with a Sev and Opaline ? I really do not care much for the common community fish, Tetras, etc.

I suppose Angels and Rams are a possibility. I don't know though.......I have a hard time picturing my Sev with Angels. Not sure why. I really wanted somthing different.

It will be sand substrate, driftwood and/or rocks, and Amazon plants.

SA & rift cichlids have totally diferent environmental requirements

some earth-eaters would work well with sevs . whats the tank sizes? geophagus species are nice would work well as you have sand substrate i have 2 geophagus surinamensis in with my sevs and they get along fine

just re-read your post and saw the tank size . i would advise against moving the sev to the 56 gallon it will be too small i would leave him in the 75

I know Mark. It was going to be temporary until I found somthing to do with my Tinfoils in the 75. They are getting BIG ! I was trying to lighten the load.

I've been searching for a used tank of at least 150 gal. for a long time with no luck (in my price range)

I guess for now I could take the heavy decor out of the 75 and add another filter. They seem happy as of now, and then just keep looking.

The 56 gallon fit a stand I already have and was only $120. I have everything else for it. Impulse buy I guess ;)
