i have heard about the purple parrot which is supposedly super red
is this true that that is what they are called?
if this is true, why do they called them that, i have 2 and i dont see a single spec of purple on them

The really red parrots are called purple parrots... I really don't know why.. maybe because regular parrots are called blood parrots, and people would get confused if they just called them super red parrots.. I think that makes sense.

why is it that my parrots look orange most of the time and like a few times a week it would become super red?

When it is light colored, it is probably stressed... if you see it flaring and acting dominant, it will probably be it's brightest color.

Please keep hybrid topics in the hybrids section, they do not belong in the true Cichlids sections.

sorry about that
if you think about it, it is still a cichild :p

thanks i guess the thing about the stressing kinda helped
