I inherited 2 parrot fish when i bought my second hand tank, they had had them for 2 years and although the female laid eggs they were infertile. However i had them 2/3 weeks when i noticed fry! Do i need to feed the fry any special food and how long do they take to grow. They are about the size of a greenfly at the moment and look blackish.

Do i need to remove the parents. Any help gratefully appreciated, as i have no idea about these fish

You do not need to remove the parents, they will take care of their fry, however, once you see the parents no longer caring for them, I would remove the fry in a separate tank. You can feed them newly hatched brine shrimp, infusoria, or liquid fry food. Here's a link describing the foods more: http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/fry_food.php I'm not sure about the growth rates but if you feed them well and keep up on water quality, they'll grow faster than you think! :)
