Parasite Breakout

I'm convinced some type of parasite is annoying my fish. ive seen about 4 different fish in my community tank scratch themselves. i'm only familiar with ich but i haven't seen white spots on any of the fish. i have some fish that aren't very tolerant of salt so i raised the temperature and added half a dose of aquarium salt. would half a dose be enough to kill ich or whatever parasite it might be? any suggestions?

It doesn't sound like ich, but something is definatley irritating them. Salt won't kill a parasite, unless you OD by a lot. Pick up some CopperSafe from your lfs. It works wonders.

Flicking can also be caused by poor water quality. Check your nitrite level and be sure that it's at zero. If there is any possibility that your water is less than ideal, do some additional water changes. It might be enough to stop the flicking.
