As many of you may already know, I just set up my new 238L 120x40x50cm, with a 90L sump, about a month ago! It sure was an adventure LOL! The guy who traded it to me in exchange for my tablet emptied it and took a whole week to bring it over, so the cycle was lost; then it had a leak and I had to empty it and wait for yet another week until he could come to fix it...Then getting the sand was quite a show! Nowhere could I find bags larger than 2Kg, so it took me over two weeks to get the 13.5Kg I have now. Being a jobless teenager with restrictive parents sure isn't easy. :-/
Anyway, I now have 2 air pumps running a 90-cm bubble curtain and an airstone. The hood has 2 yellow bulbs and a blue one under which my glo-zebra danio glows purple. I also have a powerhead which belonged to the tank's previous owner, and a heater which is now set to 78°F. My sump isn't running ATM because the plastic canvas I put over the intake to protect my zebra danio and guppy fry has slowed down the intake enough to be a problem, but the filter media is still submerged in tank water.
The decorations I have are the following:
The substrate (13.5Kg of fine white sand)
An O-shaped rock (It has leaf fossils on its underside! How cool is that!?

)
As far as plants go, I have:
Several stems of hornwort
Several stems of a round-leaved, flat-leaved light green plant
One Amazon Sword
Some Elodea stems
Thus far, I have the following inverts:
2 different colors (dark reddish brown and black) of ramshorn snails. Don't ask how many I have.
And my fish:
One male pink zebra danio "glo-fish"
One Corydoras paleatus (Some of you will no doubt remember Fideo

)
Between 8 and 11 1-1/2mo old guppy fry (Seems like 3 disappeared, though neither Fígaro nor Fideo can eat them)

It seems like next weekend I'm finally going to be able to buy all I need. I need to make my list

Any recommendations? I've got cartloads of questions.

Is there any type of shrimp I can safely keep with angels (I don't care how hard it is to keep alive, I can do it!

)?
How can I raise my own live food?
What types of plants and/or decorations should I get? I want a very natural, thick-jungle-like look, with driftwood, rocks, etc. but with a beautiful, well thought out design, maybe like a "path to the beach" or "jungle cave" scenario

I'm going to get corkscrew Vallisneria, Cryptocorynes and some Eleocharis, but what else can I get away with without CO2 injection? What low plant can I use to cover part of the bottom and create a 'sunny meadow' effect?
Will my angels eat zebras or cardinals?

How can I keep my old air pump from making so much noise? It vibrates so much it jumps around, and I had to tie it to the hood to keep it from falling off. It sounds like an old truck, and my dad piled two huge books on top of it to safeguard his fragile sanity.

Is the following stocking list OK (leaving out the zebras and cardinals, just in case)?
-1 pair of angels
-6 Corydoras paleatus
-1 pair of marble hatchets (Carnegiella strigata I think, right?)
-1 male honey gourami
-6 Glo tetras (dunno what they are, but if I can't keep glo zebras I want some type of glofish!)
-1 pair of common swordtails (y'know, that petstore mix haha)
-1 pair of any large variety of guppy, like Half Black Blue
-The ramshorns I already have
-Several "mystery"/"Briggs snails" (one of each color I can find lol)

Thanks in advance! You guys see, I'm not really a total noob, but I've never had anything bigger than a young giant danio hahaha

and this is my first ever sump.

Here's my tank:

A tip to silence your air pump. Place a piece of foam under it, you might want to secure it with a couple of rubber bands to stop the pump jumping off the foam.

Thanks a bunch! Will do :D
Another issue I have is I can't do frequent w/c's because my dad insists that I can't unless I find a use for that water (other than watering the garden, which he also considers a waste). Thankfully it seems he will be leaving on a trip soon, and my mother isn't quite so restrictive on that point :D

Actually, if you get your sump setup correctly, then the requirements for water changes are dramatically reduced.
