Painted Glass Fish

I was at my lfs last weekend and they had painted glass fish in again. I asked them why they sold them since they are injected with die right?? Well the guy told me they put them in a bath of special water that takes of their protective slime coat then paint the stripe on them then put them in another special bath that puts the slime coat back on. He says this doesn't harm them at all. I have never heard of this method before. I think it's still harmful to the fish what do you think.

This thread will now start everyone off once again on the in humane way that fish are dyed i dont agree with it but we all know so lets not start going off on one people. There dyed because they sell no other reason people like the bright colours and most people to be honest just do not know.

Yes I know I'm not going off on them but I have never heard does this method really not hurt them?

i wouldn't belive that for a second id say it hurts they just say it so you'll buy them

let's see...
the first step is to dip them in a chemical that eats off their protective mucus
the last step is to dip them in an irritant so that the mucus grows back unnaturally fast

certainly doesn't sound very pleasant, does it?

No it doesn't and it still seems to me that they can still be hurt so in other words I don't think I am going to support this lfs anymore since they think it doesn't hurt them and won't do anything about it.
