Hi folks

Just wondered what you guys and girls would recommend for painting backgrounds with?

Just typical use background posters you cut to size normally.

Ive read some people use plastic dip, some use water based acrylic paints or oil based. Whats the best? Im looking to paint mine black

Cheers

I would of thought Enamel paints due to the hard wearing capability but i guess anything oil based would work, Water based is eventually going to fade/wear away but may be better for the fishes

Personally I'd use acrylic paint, since it's slightly water resistant, but will scrape and peel off if you decide you want it gone, like if you want to change it up or sell the tank down the road.

I only have one of my tanks painted. I used plasti-kote satin black on the outside. One can covered the back and both sides of the office tank (36x12x12") but only just. Happy with the result.

Did you paint/roller it on or did it come in a spray can Sean?

I might need a fair few cans?‍?

Spray can. I sprayed it outside before I even brought it in the house. Obviously can't do my existing tanks, but if I got another I would use it again.

Think im going to need a paint more than a spray. Dont fancy carrying this tank in and out being as heavy as it is.

P.s why your online.. what size external heater did you use on your old 450 Sean? :)
