Ah, a successful tank. Can't relate. My tank might be crashing, due to suspected shrimp deaths(found what may be a body but not sure). Anyway, I might be getting a larger tank in the near future(done right this time), and I want either fork tails or kribs. Because you have experience, can you give me tips? I'm planning to do an aquascape, and don't particularly want gudgeons with forktails. Also how do you get them to spawn? Much cooler than guppies.
In the main tank they do like to frolic in the current. There are also more calm areas is in the tank.Yeah. Are they known for their liking of a strong current?

Which fish are slow growers, the P. furcatus?BTW : noticed they are slow growers
I can see mine in a month, which will make three months, I will take a picture so you can see @Colin_T . Then you can compare and I can get your input.Which fish are slow growers, the P. furcatus?
Mine grew rapidly and were 1 inch long and sexually mature at 2-3 months of age.
Make sure you feed them well, do big regular water changes, have warm water (28C is best for growing tropical fish).

Pseudomugil gertrudae should be about 2cm long and sexually mature in 2 months. If they take more than 3 months to get there, you need to feed them more.P.gertrudae
