P F K Aquascaping Contest Now Open

The PFK Aquascaping Contest is open!

Entries need to be in for August 31st 2007 so you have plenty of time.

There's three categories -

Junior (17 and under)
Under 60cm tank length
60cm and over

All entries must include live plants.

The winner of each category wins £250 worth of Tropica goodies (plants, ferts and substrates).

The magazine has official entry form as well as all the small print. Forms can be photocopied and following issues will have entry forms too.

You can enter five photos of each tank using one entry form. You can enter more tanks using more forms.

The entries are by Royal Mail only - no e-mails.

Max size for prints is A4.

Min size for digital images on CD is 1800x1200 pixels, max 3508x2480 pixels.

Don't forget to include contact details.

Final note - the contest is open to UK and Republic of Ireland entrants only.

Are you allowed to enter the same tank with a different scape more than once?

You can enter several aquascapes. Just use a different entry form for each aquascape.

You can enter a maximum of 5 photos of the same aquascape per entry form.

Then enter another 5 photos of a different aquascape using another form. And so on.

PFK will include new forms with each issue leading up to the contest.

I was defiantly going to enter, but now I'm going to have to do so much later than planned, due to fish deciding to breed in my tank and wrecking it .
I'm glad I've got so much time to enter .

Is there a definition of 'planted'? For instance, if I did a tank with mainly hardscape and stuck some moss in it, would that count?

If there's live plants in there then you can enter.

I will judge each aquascape on its merit i.e. aesthetics, composition, viability, innovation etc. Not on how heavily planted it is.

at the moment im 17 but by the 31st august i will be 18 i assume wont be able to enter in this category? even if i enterd before my 18th birthday?
