Hi, I have a 33 gallon, plan on ridding of most of the fish in it because I want larger fish in it. Any ideas for redoing this tank so that its more filled with bigger (and if possible, interesting) fish? Any suggestions welcome!

Thanks

go with african cichlids. they get to a decent size but u can still have about 5 or so depending on their length maybe more, and u can over stock a bit with cichlids, it helps cut down the agression.

Any interesting sp. in mind? Something that isnt' extremely high price (I live in canada) but would be an interesting mix?

Just remember to figure out the size your new fish will be when they are adults. Otherwise your new fish may need a larger tank before you know it.

best of luck,
Asaint

I reckon keep the clown loaches and go for a group of african cichlids.. You could probably get 10 in a 33G. Just remember to get lots of rocks so that they can mark out their individual terratories.

What are some hardier good africans to get in everyones opinion, i am not well educated on them I've been looking around, are yellow labs an option? I would like to go for an african theme though.

Thanks again for everyone's help

Most Mbuna are pretty hardy, in fact tough little buggers.. Yellow labs are less aggressive by Mbuna standards and are amonst the easier to keep, they also look stunning and would be well suited to your tank size. Other options would be Pseudotropheus Acei or Iodotropheus Sperengerae.
