hey...i got so many kribensis for a very cheap price from a friend that did not want them anymore...Right now, i put the breeding pair in the 37gallon tank with other tankmates such as angelfish, tiger barbs, pearl gourami and a trio of very small BN...I put around 25 smaller kribs (2-4cm) in a 15gallon filtered by two filters; one an aquaclear 20 (suited for 20g under) and another internal filter suited for the 15gallon that coincide to turn over a lot of water at the same time increasing the number of beneficial bacteria within the two filters...My 15gallon also has a couple of coconut caves with java moss, water wisteria and an airstone that may also help with the bioload and removing some of excess CO2...So my question is, can i keep the 25 kribensis temporarily in the 15gallon until they are fit for sale at around 5cm (lfs requirements)??? Thankyou for any replies...
P.S. I will be doing 25% water changes three times a week just to help out...

I think that many kribs in there isnt a very good idea because it isnt healthy and it can stunt there growth.

cleaning the water is a minor part of it. I imagine a lot of stress will be placed on overcrowded fish which in turn may lower the immune system and bring out health issues or cause fighting. Could you not sell half of them to a lfs, then take your time selling the rest for a better price to individuals. You can always accept vouchers in exchange for cash at a lfs and use them for essentials like food, equipment, med's etc.
I think that's what I would do.

Overstocking is a normal part of breeding. How much you can overstock comes with experience. In a situation like this it would be nice to know the tank dimensions. If it's a long tank with a lot of surface area you might be able to get away with it. A tank like a 20 long comes to mind, this is what I used the few times I bred kribs.

A 29 would be better, but if the 15 is all you have to work with keep a close eye on water parameters. Sell them off a few at a time as soon as possible once they get to size.

I would just see if the lfs will take any and keep the rest and then sell them when they get big enough. If you are trying to breed for colors and you see and "pretty ones" keep them and then breed them.

Hey...Its a 15gallon (24inch * 12inch * 12inch)...How many kribs did you raise up in your 20 long? What size did you let them grow to until you took them out? I got another 37gallons but i put the breeding pair in their and their tankmates are too big for the little fish to get along...

I had a good 20, maybe 25 fry in there. They got to about 1 1/2" before they were sold.

She is just growing them until they are big enough to be sold. She is not keeping them in there forever, if she was she would need about a 60 gallon long.
