Hi, i have just started a fishless cycle on my new tank,i have added the ammonia to my 300l de-chlorinated water earier today, then i desided to add filter start, which i know isn't neccessary, but being as tank is from scratch, i figured this could help things along.Anyway, i have made a booboo, as i have overdosed big time, adding 33ml instead of 8-9ml .Being as its such a huge overdose, is my only option a large water change?

was it the Ammonia or the filter start you od`?

Yeah sorry, it was the filter start & it does say to dose again next day, so instead of being 4x what i needed its only 2x which may help, i guess?

yea if its that stuff just don`t worry and carry on as normal.....

i wouldnt worry most filter starters are just ammonia any way
i don't think i have seen any that actually contain beneficial bacteria

So if i do amm test, its more than likely shot that up then.So how is it benificial bacteria then, as it could kill my fish if i was to add as often as it says on bottle? Thanks for replies cheers

Yeah figured that would be the case but you have to give it a shot if you have it anyway.Dont look like its even got amm in it though, as amm looks about the same, dont ask what its reading, because i am finding it very difficult to tell. Its a nutrifin liquid test kit & apart from the white & cream, it could be any of the other 4 pink, pink, pinker & pinker still really  Gonna have to purchase one of the api ones instead, hopefully they little easier?
