For my hospital tank, i needed to get a heater which was not to large. At P@H i saw a 25w heater which would do up to 30L tank, but it was not cheap, so i got an Elite heater off ebay instead as i have a larger one in my main tank so knew the name. I got a 25w heater, but when it came, it said for up to 20L...well my tank is 26L... I figured as it was not my main tank it would be ok (and as a different manufacturer said the same powered heater would be fine.
However, as my small tank was not the most expensive, the lid is pretty rubbish! It is thin plastic, and does not even go all the way to the back. There is about a 1 inch strip which is not covered. I was told this was for cables, but i dont know how many wires they expect me to have! Anyway, i think the heat is just flowing out of there. As a result of a small heater and a cheap lid, the heater is on all the time (or so it seems). Any advise (short of putting a towel over the top) to save the heat flowing out my tank? Can i get a lid from anywhere?
