Bet you haven't seen one of these posts before lol. And yes, I know I just made a post about how rules arn't steadfast, but I'm curious as to what people think.

Would you guys say my 20 gallon "tall" is over stocked with 6 tiger barbs and 6 peppered corries?

Also, my 105 gallon tank with dimensions of 48"x18"x28" stocking is: 1 oscar, 1 convict, 1 firemouth, 1 senegal bichir, and 1 gibby pleco.

I'm curious to see whether more people think one or both are overstocked or not, I think they are fine. All have good filtration btw.

They look good to me, though I'm probably the wrong person to ask.

foget about the inch per gallon rule it is a usefull guidline for beginners or people with rubbish filtration and your tank is stocked ok i woulnt add anything else maybe another gourami but thats it really also i met some aquarium doctor who said forget about all of those he said keep stocking until you notice nitrite rising but i would say your tank is ok :)

Any other opinions? I'm curious to see if you guys think that 1" per gallon rule is good or rubbish.

1" per gallon is, to me anyway, a decent guideline to start with. Experience will teach most people if that is too much or not enough. As everyone will say the guideline is simply that, a guideline. If your tank has particularly low bio-load ccupants you can easily add more, if all the occupants are messy you'll definitely want to add less. When you consider fish at different levels and increased filtration... I don't think there is any hard and fast rule any more.

When all the fish in your 105g are full grown, it will probably look crowded based on that it's 4 feet long. Don't know if that would mean it's overstocked..
