Google
I'd suggest that 90% arrive at fishforums because they buy a tank on impulse and take advice from people at the lfs who are there primarily to get as much mula from their pockets as possible. Some give up, usually because their fish keep dying. Others turn to google sign up at whichever forum looks best. Ask for advice and get asked the most basic question. "Have you cycled?" To which their reply is something along the lines of "What is this cycle you speak of?" Or "I used this bottled stuff on the advice of my lfs."
Some stay, absorb, research, and fine tune. Others, when they realize the dedication and work involved exit left.
