Seen some of these cute little guys and was thinking about getting maybe 3 for my community tank after I've set up my tank and completed fishless cycle etc.
Now I've read that they can be very sensative and a lot of keepers struggle to keep them,so I wasn't planning on getting any for several months to allow my tank to mature etc.
However the main thing that is making me think that they may not be an ideal choice is I've read somewhere from a link that they can and do attach themselves to slower moving fish causing lots of damage
I dont know whether this is a normal characteristic or whether its just something that happens if they are not getting enough food.
Most books I read and internet reviews has them as been very nice sucker cat fish to have but I've very worried about this sucking on slow movers???
My other planned tank mates could include Emperor Tetras,Harlequinns,Male Platty's,5banded barbs and eventually a pair of Bolivian or Blue or Gold Rams (just one of either not a combination),a pair of red honey gouramis and a few corrys and amano shripms.
As a novice i'm not sure of these which would be possible targets for attachment from the Ottos (maybe the red honey gourami?? although the ones I've seen in the LFS are labelled as REd Robin Gouramis and whenever I've watched them they dont seem to be still/slow at all?)
Can anyone offer any advice from personal experience
