i plan to restart my 20 gallon tank after putting it away 3 months ago. i plan to transfer all the current fish in my 10 gallon (8 cherry barbs and 4 1-inch otos) into the 20, and add a trio of apisto cacatuoides (1m, 2f).
i will be using the current filter, which is rated for 20 gallons and has been established for over 2.5 years. i will also move all the decor (including a few handfuls of gravel) into the 20.
i know that otos need a mature tank, meaning one with a bio-film. do you think they will do well in the 20 if there is bio-film everywhere except the tank surfaces? how about the apistos?
