The oscar and severum clubs had very valuable infromation on there that members had taken there time to post.

I hope they're not deleted.

i cant believe how fast albert grew!!!!!!! i got mine when they were fully grown so missed out on the speedy growing bit!

I'm dead against the mods messing with there members closing stuff...they are harmless informative threads....just makes the place worse without them.

My lfs has red tiger oscars in and they are so tiny, is £12 for two a good price?

Depends really - how tiny and if you want 2 do you have space to house them? or rehome one if they don't get on?

I definately haven't got enough room I was just wandering what the normal price is, they're about the size of a fully grown keyhole cichlid.

Last time I was at my LFS there were 2x4" Oscars for £18, At BAS they were doing 3" Oscars for about £4 - 7 depending how many they had in.

hmm, about the same then, do oscars need a minimum of 65 uk gallons?

for a single oscar some people say a min of 55ukg but in my opinion that is just a little too small, unless you had it seriously overfiltered it would get dirty fast. i had to keep one of mine in a 200L tank (i seperated them when i thought they were fighting in the beginning) and my god i was doing huge water changes nearly every other day!!

a 75uk g would be just perfect for 1, 125uk g bare minimum for 2
