Oscars Oscars Everywhere.....!

i think that is a beautiful tank :) did you know you could probably find a cheaper one on ebay though??

Ok, I'll have a scan around on ebay, that tank in the link is 4ft, I already have a 3ft tank with stand, would I be able to put the 4ft tank on the 3ft stand with some extra wood on the sides?

Thanks
Joe

erm...i personally wouldnt! but then i dont make stands...my boyfriend makes all mine for me! maybe post in the tropical discussion or diy section asking if you can make a 3ft stand bigger, saftly?

The oscar and severum clubs had very valuable infromation on there that members had taken there time to post.

I hope they're not deleted.
They certainly won't be deleted. At worst, they would remain closed, be unpinned and fall down the page but still be available for people to find info in during a search.

The biggest problem I see with the oscar club thread (or any other thread that gets that large) is that I understand that there may be useful information on there but how do you find it in 50+ pages of posts? If I'm needing answers, I'm simply going to post a new thread rather than reading 1000+ posts to try to find the answer. Most members don't use the search function anyway as evidenced by the large number of threads about the same topic and they certainly aren't going to read through that many pages to find the answer. To me, a thread that monstrous simply makes finding useful information more difficult.

but its fantastic if you have a spare half hour, you sit down with a cuppa and read it. have you tried that? its a great thread!!! some great oscar stories...highs lows and very sad points, detailed posts of how people have overcome various oscar problems..its like an oscar diary.....very useful and a good read..it can only get better and better if it was open. if it stays closed its dead and buried. like you say no one uses the search..imo its to hard to use!!! (never works for me)

I don't know about many, but I couldn't be bothered to read half of it.Most of it was chat, people announcing they've got an oscar, and people announcing there oscar has a problem, or has died...And pics
I do agree however that the search is somewhat overrated.
