the middle o' bum**** and you got a purty mouf
Ok so i have 2 oscars and they are always hiding behind plants or in a decoration and don't get me wrong i didn't buy these fish just to watch them eat like some people. but i would like to see them swim around. Should i take out the plants (i don't want to stress them)

Do you have a plan for these two oscars? Sadly, a 55 won't be able to satisfy their needs.

But, I've seen a lot of oscars that "sulk". Just give them time and they should be fine.

Oscars are moody fish, they can take some time to settle in. Leave the lights off if you have no live plants, background on 3 sides will help. If you have live plants you won't have them for long, mine rearranges silk plants to his liking.

How are the water stats now, as from your thread in the emergency section, your water quality is probably not helping with their shyness.

agree with minx here, you previous thread showed serious water quality issues which would serious harm your fish, how are the water stats now? if they are at 0 for ammonia/nitrite, then perhaps the oscars are just recovering from all the stress they've been through (bad water, being mover back and forth)
or if the water is not yet good, that could be the reason for the hiding :)

Well they are probably recovering from the ammonia and nitrIte that you did have, just keep up with the w/c and slowly they should become more lively. What are you feeding them?

ah once the oscars are bigger they will uproot the plants for you :)
