Oscar Problem!

Right im at my wits end now i have come home tonight to find my albino oscar is missing more of his fins and looking a bit beaten. Im trying to find out who attacked him and not having much luck!! i have two parrot fish who aint to bad there pretty good and to sevrums which seem to be pretty lets say not so nice after being told at the pet shop they would be fine as they are a nice calm fish WELL HE GOT THAT WRONG! Any got any throughts on who my fin nipper is? and how do i get him to regrow his fins his such a stunning fish!!

You'll just have to get a cup of tea and a book and sit yourself in front of the tank until you catch the culprit at it; it's the only way I've found. Then re-home it, I guess.

The oscar's fins will grow back with good feeding and good water, once the nipper is gone!

usually sevs are pretty calm and 'normally' only get roudy when they are provoked. Like Fluttermouth says keep a sharp eye on the goings on and you'll soon find the fin nipper!

i dont mind i love sitting watching them. Would it be worth treating the water?

it could be the other oscar, is the one getting bullied new or a little smaller?

a trick i've used before when i've had temperamental fish is take out the offender for a few hours, rearrange the tank décor let everyone get settled then re-introduce him, that should confuse them enough into thinking there somewhere new

Funny you say that he is a little smaller than the one that being how could i put it nipped at and they came from the same tank. diffrent breeds would not have anything to do with it would they? the one being nipped is an albino and the other is a tiger.

Got home last night abit late :lol:

went to look at fish for my 65 liter tank and ended up coming home with 9 new ones :lol:

was only ment to be looking. Did not look like anything had been nipping at the oscar any more but got to do a 25% water change at the weekend so am going to remove who im pretty sure it is and re do the decor in the tank and give that a shot. Thank you both for your help means alot
