dude i have the exact same 2 foot as urs except urs is 2 gals bigger. big woop. and i only had guppys and mollys and platys and neons. and it fitted in perfectly with the inch per gal rule. and u shouldnt be the one to talk. u got a black ghost in a 2 foot which ur size need at least a 3 foot cuz hes small. and ur getting a oscar that u could probably keep for a week or 2.

i'll have nuthing in there if i got an oscar. If they grow so fast how come the lfs keeps them in shuch small tanks, theyre about 1½inch each btw

Because the lfs expects to sell them fast, they don't house fish probably because they don't expect them to be there long, thats why you might see Clown Knives etc in 20 gallon tanks.

After it dies and you go back to the LFS i am willing to bet he will try to sell you a larger tank. If you buy the tank then not only did he get your money for the now dead oscar, he got you to purchase a tank and made another profit on that, plus all the filters, PHs, etc and probably another oscar. That is how they make money unfortunately. I know oscars are great fish, but before you get one, please be sure to have AT LEAST a 55 gal tank. The oscar will need to be the only fish in that tank. Best to get 100+ gal if you want 2 and that knife fish.

My lfs gets 10 tiger oscars in every thursday, about every third week they also get about 5 albino's in as well as about 5 red oscars, they are one hell of a fast selling fish.

well we went to the lfs. the oscars there were smaller then my mollys.literly i swear im not joking. so we got him and in 2 months were taking him bak to the lfs and tradign him in for a smaller one and doing that untill we get a new tank.*ducks b4 vip and impur can throw ninja stars and daggers at me*

why bother doing that? if you can't keep one fish, why keep swapping them for smaller ones? won't it be better to get a bigger tank and keep the same fish?

So, your going to change 20% each day, feed him three times per day all differnt foods, and then go pay money for a smaller oscar when you go to take yours back?
With the money you are spending on water you can get that larger tank.

And who has the ghost knife in the 2ft tank? you guys know they grow to 2ft dont you. How small is the oscar as well, and also the ghost knife, cause one thing you might not know is ghost knifes are night stalkers.
I have a 10" ghost and a 8" parrot, two nights ago we were watching the ghost come out to eat (turn the tank lights off and leave the room light on). Now my blood parrot is pretty agressive, he puts my oscar to shame. The ghost was out eating some pig heart when he took a bit from the blood parrots mouth, the parrot bit his tail and the ghost shot back and latched onto his uppse nose next to his eye, my parrot now has a gash in him and looks like a razor blade sliced him, im getting some pics of it soon. the parrot was shocked!! what do you think that ghost will do at night? have you seen how large there mouths are there massive! they unlock like a snake ive seen mine bite a beef heart in half!

well yes. he is going to do water changes everyday.its not hard wen u got a gravel cleaner. and ye he'll preet much find him 3 times or 2wice a day. and as for ur black ghost.......thats one really screwed up black ghost. cuz they do well with most fish just not ones smaller then them.

Cause i cant uderstand it, EVERYONE told you not to do this, not opions, advise! and spot on advise! but insted you belived a lie, and were conned into buying one, why swap a fish? its a pet isnt it? would you swap your dog every 6 months??
I just dont understand, you know its wrong, but yet you still went ahead with it?

ye but with a dog u wouldnt want to trade it every six months here cuz it costs 300 dollars and more. with an oscar its 10 dollars and we're actually doing it some good buy giving it bak so it can grow full sizer andn live a happy life. and the oscar seems happy enuf in Silva_Fishys tank. we cheked his water everything is fine. the oscar is probably happier then ur fish rite now. and wat size tank do u have.

and if u wanna no why......this is my answer

the oscar is smaller then a molly and its gonna be in there for 2 months.
