Osca Fish

I have 2 small Oscas and 1 of them has just decided to stop eating, i dont understand. He will die soon.
He's now just sitting on the bottom of the tank and not swimming around anymore, the other one is fine.
I use all sorts of food. Frozen brine shrimp, blood worm, beef heart, cichlid food and shrimp. I use
cichlid pellets(which they never really went for) live meal worms and today i bought live feeder fish
to try to excite him. He's just not interested. The other oscas cruisen around catchin them all.
PH is fine so is amonia and tempreture is at 27 degrees. Its been about 3 days since ive seen him eat
and im very concerned. Does anyone have any ideas or can help me please???

can you give your exact readings for ammonia, pH and nitrite please.

What testing kit are you using?

Size of the tank?

How long have you had the fish?

What other fish are in the tank?

Im using aquarium pharmaceuticals freshwater/saltwater test kits.
ammonia test water comes up yellow which reads 0 ppm.
I havent got nitrate.
nitrite test water comes up blue which reads 0ppm. (not sure how accurate this reading is)
its a 4 foot tank and ive only had the oscas for a month.
ive transfered all the other fish to another tank, so now its just
the 2 oscas in there, and the feeder fish i put in today..

done one 4 days ago at about 30 litres and just now, another 30 litres.

do a large water change and see if that perks him up.

Sorry, didn't realise you had duplicated your post and I've replied to the one on Emergency Section.

30 liters is about 15% if your tank is 4ft 200L, ifs its bigger than 200L than ur doing even smaller % water changes, you should try increasing you water changes to see if that helps. i personally do 40-50% water changes every week. on a 200l tank

Ive just done a 70 percent change of 200 litre tank. have to see how that goes, thankyou.

I have 3 pink convicts in my other tank. there awesome arnt they.
no problems with them.

In reply to emergency Anthea, i havnt seen him poo seen i havnt seen him eat.
i havnt done an extreme water change till just now and havnt really moved there tank around
that much seen there only relitivly new to me.
I have heard they can have a little solk every now and then, thats why ive left it till now.
now im worried cos i have male and female and dont wanna loose one. thanks for your reply

Oh no! That's sad So sorry to hear this news.

I would say that whenever you notice the first sign of something odd going on with your fish, let us know on the forums because the earlier you spot these things, we can try various remedies and the better chance your fish has of surviving.

Is the other oscar still looking fine?

Thankyou i will do that.. Yeah the other ones very active always hungry and looks good.
Im not sure if I'll get another one yet or not..
They are very messy and it will grow bigger this way.
The only thing is they paired off and were happy together.
Would have been good for breeding later.
