I have 2 small Oscas and 1 of them has just decided to stop eating, i dont understand. He will die soon.
He's now just sitting on the bottom of the tank and not swimming around anymore, the other one is fine.
I use all sorts of food. Frozen brine shrimp, blood worm, beef heart, cichlid food and shrimp. I use
cichlid pellets(which they never really went for) live meal worms and today i bought live feeder fish
to try to excite him. He's just not interested. The other oscas cruisen around catchin them all.
PH is fine so is amonia and tempreture is at 27 degrees. Its been about 3 days since ive seen him eat
and im very concerned. Does anyone have any ideas or can help me please???

Could he be constipated? Have you seen him pooping at all recently? You could try offering him a pea to see if he will eat that to aid his digestion.

Sometimes Oscars just sulk and refuse to eat. Could be something simple like you've added something to the tank, or taken something out, or moved stuff around or annoyed him with tank maintenance/water changes etc...

What type of test kit are you using and what were the exact results of the ammonia test you did? Have you done a nitrite and nitrate test at all?

Regards, Athena

Oscars are BIG babies!! Like Athena said, if you moved anything or added anything or took something away he could just be pouting. Hopefully it's nothing serious. How does his fins look?
