just a couple of pics of the juvi channa ornatipinnis which arrived yesterday morning.
They are settling in nicely, and are very greedy. Not brilliant pics, just off my phone but just wanted to get a couple on. There is 6 but couldnt get a pic of them all together!

Nice one Dave

looking forward to seeing them progress

I need to make a choice on mine really as sorting tanks. what would you keep Orientalis or Assams> I need to move one of the types on really

i do like my assams and find them very lively, eat from my hand, as do the tiny clown loach's they are homed with! Havent ever seen orientalis in life but is it me or do they look very similar to assams? I saw some pics n at first glance i thought, assams! They both look nice, would be a difficult, dont no if i could do it! If ya want rid of the orientalis il send ya my address and a couple of pennies lol!
I need a stand that holds 3, 3 foot tanks. Any ideas? Might make one but wouldnt no wether to get out the mig welder or the table saw! Nelly at the moment my pc has popped its cloggs so for the last 3 months iv only been online via my trusty n95 8gb phone! So as you can imagine very frustrating! And can only upload pics from my phone camera. As im sure you do, i spend too much cash on fish and equipment to bother with a pc! Pics will be easier when a get the pc situation sorted out!
Hopefully ill get it sorted out and make a kind of blog out of my ornates lifes, and growing up etc.

Cheers guys

David

I'm veering to the Orientalis to be honest they are bigger and beefier and I like their more subtle colours so it will be the assams going

Dave they look nothing like the Orientalis!! lol :hyper: they are plain body with vivid black white and green and blue fins

morning Dave

I'm keeping the Orientalis as I'm determined to breed them so need to move the assams on. they're advertised on classified ads £ 20 th three if your interested

id love to take them mate but a just couldnt get there to get them! Have they grown a lot since you got them? I wanted to go to bas tomorow to see what the have but the other half wants to go to blackpool bloody sealife centre!
Ye id like to expand my group of assams, give them more of a choice when pairing off! If ya lived closer id av em now!
Thanks for letting me no though!

they;ve grown a load Dave, they were really small and weedy when i got them now look spot on and very impressive

Iam not sure but i think my sp's could well be holding, put it this way, they are now hiding constantly last two day's at top in the plant's, one will not eat and the other is very skittish and will not leave the other ones side, also theres a half banded eel in the tank, if it show's it face it will get chased around tank constantly, where as before they never even bothered with it, wish i could catch the half band without disturbing the snakeheads but they eel just burys itself

simon, i wish i could take them off your hands! I need to get my ###### into gear and get my driving license back so i can become mobile again! I hope they go to a good home!
Neil it would be great if they bred wouldn't it! Am i right in saying the assams have more eggs then the ornates? I think i read some ones had about 200! Cant wait till mine pair off and il send the other 4 packing! As i mentioned i want to expand my collection of dwarf channa, moving more towards the rarer species, so does anybody have any ideas on particular species i could look into acquiring? Baring in mind i want rare unusual ones!
Cheers
David
