I have a little problem with this. I bought my 3 Pygmy corys about 6 weeks ago and the LFS promised me they would be getting some more in in about 3 weeks. I went today to look and they had NO new fish atall. To be honest they seem to have gone seriously downhill since the first time I went in there about 3 months ago. I suspect their business isn't doing so well

ANYWAY, obviously I need to get another 3 Pygmys coz it's just mean to the 3 I have but no-where else around here sells them.

Does anyone know of any good online places I can buy them? Not that I like the idea of my fish coming in the post but it may be my only option.

Ordering online can be good, if you're willing to pay the £11 average shipping.

Have a look at this ebay link

Lol Beth that's the link I've just found, I was just coming here to ask if anyone knows if he's good/reliable? He has 97.7% positive feedback and I'm wondering why.

I think he's the same bloke that sells the Honey G's so I could kill two birds with one stone.

I don't mine the £11 postage. To be honest I was kinda invisaging £30 postage or something else awful. Lol the actual fish are also about half the price that the ones from my LFS were.

I have used A* Tropicals and Direct Tropicals :)

they both seem good and the people that run them seem to know what they are talking about (I have never done it by post though as they live within driving distance from me)

Or SHE should I say, naughty me.

Hi Amy. I definitely saw Direct Tropicals but they don't have any Pygmys :(

I've brought from her, it's her son who actually sells, so anything fish related would come from him (paul i believe), never had an issue with them before.

If they dont then A* wont as Direct is A*'s supplier (or was when i went there)

Fab that's good enough for me. I do have one more LFS to check out that i didn't know existed so if that's no good I'll order some later in the week.

See this is why I should have got Pandas, MUCH easier to get hold of lol!

You also might want to look for a local club, there are reasonably easy to breed, you may find someone local breeding them.

I am in the same situation that you are Caz. I was looking for some Betta simplex or Betta falx and could not find any locally. Now I have an order of Betta simplex that will be placed into the mail system on Tuesday so that they can arrive on Thursday. With the possibility of a day or two delay in the mails, I would never ask someone to post my fish later in the week. It will cost me a pretty penny for the postage but when there are no other sources, it can be worth it. My simple pair of fish will cost as much as a couple of meals in a nice high street restaurant. (Exchange rates make no sense or I would quote the dollar cost involved.)

Hi Oldman

Cool, let us know what they're like when you get them. I really do hate the idea of ordering fish online but then I suppose how do the fish get to the LFS in the first place? I guess it's not loads different.

Tolak hi, yeah I looked briefly when I first got back into this a few months ago. It seems to be a hobby that's seriously died off round here, I couldn't find anyone. I haven't investigated Brighton yet. It's nearish to me and being a city they prob have more to offer. I know they have a Maidenhead Aquatics.

Really? Might be worth it then. I'd rather do that than have them in the post (it's the thought of them being bagged up over night that I can't stand.

Gah prob won't be this weekend though :(
