Arriving on Tuesday. Feeling very excited now! You can see where all this is tending: ever increasing addiction, article in PFK magazine "Meet the reader with 55 different poeciliids"....and divorce. Perhaps I had better sit on my own head for a bit.
But these phallichthys should be good. They sound a lot shyer and more retiring than the portholes, so I'll have a nice little species tank ready for them.
They're here! Very pretty but very shy. Hopefully I'll get a better look tomorrow. One did come close to the front glass by accident, so I could see the beautiful blue sheen on his flanks.
This evening I turned the tanklights on again, and fed them- I always think a quick look at the menu helps to cheer a new fish up. You could see they wanted the food, but were too shy to get it, so ended up going up and down in the corner, like a shy toddler. Very sweet, but I left the room to let them get on with it. Otherwise they have been out and about exploring the tank (six 1 inch fish alone in a Rekord 60, so masses of room). I do hope they'll breed for me!
