Ordered Some Bolivians..

I called my LFS and ordered in about 3 bolivian rams to go in 55 gallon.
So a few questions, could I just keep all 3 in the tank? Or do I need to get 1 boy, and 1 girl?
If i do need to get a male and a female, how do I sex them at a young age? Thanks in advance!

U cud get two pairs in that tank but beware if they try n spawn the pair will show agression, but they r difficult to sex when young, once u pick em up take sum pics and i'm sure the guys on ere will have a go at sexing em

But does it matter whether or not it's a pair? Or will say, 3 males be fine in a 55 gallon?

They should be fine, regardless of whether or not their paired in a 55 gallon. There might be occasional disputes, but bolivians tend to be docile, I highly doubt they'll kill each other.

i have 2 in my tank my lfs said its one male and one female but having them in there im not so sure as the one i thought was the male i,e more colour i now think is the female as the other one which is more drab but fins are def longer is bullying what i thought was the male and are lip locking quite alot so i may need to get another

Just picked up the three! $30 But oly crap are they cute! Their eyes are huge!
