Bolivian ram pair and some cardinal tetras

I want something with a bit of personality, I hate Betta's so a big no for them.

What do you suggest?

I still like the DP's idea, nice hevily planted tank, couple of ottos in there or Khuli;s, would look nice, have you gone off the shellie idea?

Shellies are out the picture now, I just cannot get my hands on them, the butterfly fish is a nice suggestion but my PH is out of range, they really like acidic water.

They not meant to be kept with other fish types as there aggressive, and fin nippers.

How about a decent sized micro community with micro rasboras, etc basically micro everything and then have a few feature fish like some of the smaller apistos? Or Nannacaras?

Was thinking maybe a group of Cupid cichlids or Guinacaras but undecided if the tank is big enough or not? If you could find one of the Guinacaras at the smaller side of the species they could work with the above comm but they are so hard to tell apart and sometimes tough to find but there are a few available on mail order lists atm. And they take a good few years to grow I saw some 7 year old adults a few weeks ago at a mates and I was suprised at how big they were but he said it took them nearly 5 years to get any size on them then at all then they filled out in the past 2. But I know the family is quite varied but quite badly documented...

Possibility instead of the cardinal tetras, I've already got 4, so 20 of these a pair or rams and a handful of cories may work.
