Opinions On My 5 Gallon?

so i have decided to post pics of all the ways had have decorated my 5 gal and i want you fedd back if you like it or not

 
i will start from the past to most recent. i am using play sand.
 
this is the left overs of my live hair grass with driftwood. housing ghost shrimp.

 
**Please do NOT note that I have 1 molly and 1 goldfish together. I know that you shouldn't put them together but they were the last in their tanks. the 5gal was cleaned often and they were NOT overfed to prevent waste build up, thank you**

#1 is my favorite with #5 being a close second. One stands out because the angle of the wood is really complimented by the scroll work on the glass. It's almost like it's coming out of the wood and makes the wood feel alive rather than just a dead bit of branch.
 
I like #5 because of the steep slope and how the rocks almost seem to be surfing off the edge. I almost expect them to tumble over which lends an illusion of movement to the aquascape.

thanks once i got sand into this tank about a year ago, i have always really liked designing this tank. if i could i would have sand in all my tanks! when i go to the beach every year, i take home a ton of rocks. some i keep and others i put outside. i have found that tropicals are the best for sans because goldfish pick at the sand and mess it up i am always thinking of more designs, of course it depend on how prego the guppies are but it is still fun. my hope is to eventually get a bunch of plastic corals and make a faux saltwater tank

What are the straws for? Feeding area?
