Opinion Time - Where Do I Go Wrong.....

UV doesn't solve anything (in terms of algae) that cant be addressed with good fert regime, general maintenance and good plant health.
I wouldn't have thought it would degrade Glutaraldehyde at break neck speed. Open to correction though. Glutaraldehyde does have a 24hour half life regardless.

I used to think it was 24 hours. I think Tom Barr corrected me in that it is actually 11 hours. Can't remember but I think it was him :)

As for UV. I used to have one. Don't anymore. Nuff said. Nothing to do with any of the ramblings of the 'breaks down nutrients or Excel' tribes. Just because it wasn't worth having. Kills floating algae but then that should be something you try to do master anyway. If its killing parasites then something wrong in the tank needs sorting. Shouldn't be needing to kill parasites. Plus its something extra to reduce flow on the pipes.

Found it. Excel's half life of 11 hours and full life of 24 hours. Not sure on the maths there. lol
