Hi everyone,

I have an arcadia arc tankthat is just set up with plants at the moment (no fish) and i have noticed a problem with the tank. The glass lid doesn't cover the whole of the top of the tank, and i have woken up this morning and noticed lots of small white things on the surface of the water and in the plants. I think it is dust falling into the tank from the open spaces on top of the tank, where the lid doesn't cover. Is it most likely to be dust or is it something else? The bits of "dust" are no longer than a few millimetres and just sit on top of the tank and get caught in the plants. There are no fish in the tank, so it isn't an urgent problem. Do you think if i dust the lid every morning and do a water change today or soon, to get rid of the dust, it shouldn't be a problem?

Thanks.

I had 2 of these in different sizes and I got rid of them, it drove me mad in the end.

You could perhaps cut some clear perspex for the corners ( it is the corners that are open on arcadias isn't it? ) and glue it on with aquarium sealent? If you are careful and neat, and don't go overboard with the sealant it shouldn't look too bad.

Thanks for your help i am going to replace the lid with a sheet of perspex off ebay.
