Well - I'm fuming! Last week I spent ages trawling aquatic websites trying to find the best price on Juwel 3D granite backgrounds and found what I thought was a bargain on The Aquatic Room - emailed them to ensure they were still fully trading and that I could order the Juwel backgrounds and was told yes, website is still current and fine to place my order (the reason I checked was because the price for these backgrounds are normally £25-35 each and they advertise them for £17.89 each!). So I placed my order, giving my card details for payment and received order confirmation.
Then nothing else. Their website said orders would be despatched within 24 hours of order confirmation. So I was hoping to have had an email or something advising of despatch, or even to have received them by now (a week later). But nothing at all.
I rang them just now to be given lots of waffle, one minute saying they were a new online shop and things weren't going quite as planned with suppliers (but website says 2009), then he said the website had been closed for a while as they couldn't get supplies for the last few weeks and I said "but hold on, I checked last Weds BEFORE placing my order and was told all was fine" etc, then he said "oh actually it's only been a problem since the weekend...blah blah blah...can't get supplies, might be weeks I have to wait, best to cancel" etc
I've had no choice but to cancel my order with them! Such a disappointment as I was waiting on the backgrounds so that I can get my 4ft tank set up.
Will have to get searching again but I think this time I will just pay the extra and buy from a more trustworthy and reliable source.
Lesson learnt - if it seems to good to be true then 9/10 times it is!
