Here is a little tank I have setup in my office. I've got 2 little gouramis in there they're about 1.5 inches max. But I'm not sure what breed they are. I've also got another of these hex's setup with a baby albino oscar thats going to need a new tank shortly. I also have a 46 bow front that currently is empty but should soon have something in it.

Tell me what you think of the pic and what sort of gouramis they are.

I think hes a Honey gourami, :)

STOTM for the hex tank

FOTM for the first pic of the gourami.

Looks more like a dwarf flame gourami to me. Great pics though!!!!! :kewlpics:

BTW, FOTM nomination on the second one.

Those gouramis are ADORABLE!!!
The pictures are fantastic as well....both 1st and 2nd pictures deserve FOTM nominations.....I will nominate the second one! :D

Wow!

Thanks for the replies guys. The LFS said fire gouramis but the red belly and the blue back didn't seem to add up.

Oh and thanks for the FOTM and TOTM nominations. But I'm not sure how they work do I have to submit or does someone like a moderator just collect the pics?
Thanks

You can kinda see their coloring better with this picture taken with incandescant light.

They are red honey gourami.

But I the blue on the back is weird. I've never seen that in a red honey gourami or a regular honey gourami.

Hmm. Not sure then. I know I like the litte buggers. There were 3 at the pet store but I didn't want to overload this tank so I took the two that were kinda hanging out together.

here's another picture of one. This is taken with the tank light off and using a flash. Also gives you a perspective of the fishes size. thats a simple 25W heater he's sitting next to. I appologize for clarity he was on the other side of the tank and I had to zoom in a bit the amount of water between him and I made for a little image degredation.
